Google Ngram Viewer is a free online tool that is super cool. It charts the frequency of words or phrases in more than 5 million books published from 1500 till 2008. This enables the ability to gain interesting insights on the culture and priorities of any given topic at any particular time period. In fact, Harvard Business Review magazine April 2014 issue published an article which used Google Ngram to reveal how the world of management has evolved over time. I had experimented with this tool and generated a few interesting findings base on common HR terminologies. Following is a short 3-min video presentation as a result of my toying with this tool. Hope you enjoy this video and contribute your ideas on how we can further leverage this tool in our HR world.
